Aston Martin Valen: 850 hp V12 Makes It the Most Powerful Front-Engined Road Car

Aston Martin has unveiled a new limited-run machine called the Valen, and it is aimed squarely at drivers who still believe a big front-mounted V12 is the heart of a true supercar. Created by the brand's bespoke Q by Aston Martin division, the Valen debuted at Monterey Car Week 2026.

Filling the Gap

The Valen slots between the V12 Vanquish grand tourer and the mid-engined Valhalla hypercar. It shares its underlying platform with the Vanquish, yet the look is far more aggressive because every carbon fiber body panel has been redesigned. Production is capped at just 150 cars, which guarantees rarity from day one.

The Numbers

Power comes from an enhanced version of the Vanquish's twin-turbocharged 5.2-liter V12, now producing 850 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. That output makes the Valen the most powerful front-engined road car in the world according to reports from the launch. It is also around 110 kg lighter than the Vanquish, which should sharpen both acceleration and handling. Aston Martin is targeting 0 to 62 mph in 3.1 seconds with a potential top speed of 214 mph.

Chassis and Aero

The package includes all-new active aerodynamics and revised suspension, designed to keep the car composed when the throttle is pinned. The idea is simple: keep the traditional front-engine, rear-drive character that enthusiasts love, then add enough downforce and chassis tuning to make it genuinely track-capable.

Final Thoughts

In a world moving toward electrification and mid-engined layouts, the Valen is a bold reminder that the front-engined V12 still has plenty of life left. With only 150 units planned, collectors will likely move quickly. If you love dramatic styling, enormous power and old-school supercar theater, the Aston Martin Valen deserves a place on your radar.
